We have decided to start our Monthly Call to Prayer on the 2nd Monday next week on Monday, July 12, 2010. Please dial in 1-712-432-0175 Access Code 371622#: Time: 6:00 pm Pacific Time and 9:00 pm Eastern Time. We will try this until the end of the year and evaluate if it is best to continue in the New Year. I hope this change does not throw some of your schedules off, but will only add to more Pastors and intercessors joining us because the need to pray for our nation is ever increasing. The hole for the oil spill in the Gulf Region has not stopped after 80 days and the schemes of the enemy never stop either against God’s people and our nation. But God! But prayer!

The summer season is in full swing now and some are able to take vacation. Summer is usually a time to slow down and take a rest and regroup. There is nothing wrong with that. We all need to take time to assess and reassess our lives and schedules to see if we are in the will of the Lord. We need to hear His voice anew and adjust to His leading. Sometimes when we are praying, resting and waiting upon God or just changing our daily routine for a season, the Lord begins to move, work and do great things on our behalf. These are a few scriptures (KJV) that come to mind as I meditate on spiritual and physical sleep, slumber and rest which maybe good or bad.

Psalm 121:3-4, “He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

Psalm 127:2, “It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.”

Hebrews 4:1, “Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. Verse 9, states, “There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.”

Song of Songs 5:2, “I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.”

Luke 22:46, “And said unto them, Why sleep ye? Rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.”

Romans 13:11, “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.”
